So tonight we said goodbye to Michael Simeon, Trevor Douglas, Riley Bria, and Savion Wright, a few of my personal favorites. Tonight the guys had a much stronger night than last week's catastrophe.
8th Adam Ezegelian - I Want You Back: Adam did a cool thing deciding to change up a motown classic to suit his style. In that case he did succeed. However, the vocal was horrible in spots and I don't understand what compelled people to put him through over other better vocalists. It's just confusing. Status: Not Safe.
7th Daniel Seavey - How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You: This was actually Daniel's strongest vocal thus far in the season. I'm proud of him for being able to accomplish probably his best shot at making the Top 12. However this was a strong night and I'm not sure if it's enough to make it. Status: Not Safe.
6th Quentin Alexander - Master Blaster: This performance was so underwhelming from Quentin. I was expecting another blow you away kind of performance like last week's "I Put A Spell On You" I think this may be Quentin's undoing. Status: Not Safe
5th Mark Andrew - Papa Was A Rolling Stone: I was expecting this to be more of a moment for Mark than what it was. This was a good performance but it didn't have me excited and wanting Mark to come back compared to some of the other guys who I felt showed a bit more WOW factor. Status: Not Safe
4th Rayvon Owen - My Girl: The song choice was bland but Rayvon's smooth vocals showed a lot of potential and it made me love his voice again much like last week's "Jealous". My only concern with Rayvon is that sometimes when he goes too high it can get a bit screamy and off. Otherwise I think he did a real solid job this week. Status: Safe in the Top 12.
3rd Qaasim Middleton - I Wish: YES YES YES! This is the Qaasim I have been waiting on. He was equally entertaining as he was singing well. I'm so glad he made it through even though I wasn't blown away by him last week. This is the Qaasim I had heard waaaaaaaay back during the spoilers (December). I'm glad he's returning to form. Status: Safe in the Top 12.
2nd Clark Beckham - The Tracks Of My Tears: I love how he put a twist on the song and made it his own. I think it was another strong vocal from Clark but like I said there were a lot of strong vocalists tonight. I think it was great from him but it wasn't my favorite Clark performance. Status: Safe in the Top 12.
1st Nick Fradiani - Signed, Sealed, Delivered: For two weeks in a row Nick has slayed the competition. I love how he started off the song acoustic and just beautiful. He just brought anything and everything to that performance. I am so proud of his journey so far. As of right now he's really giving Clark a run for his money. I see this becoming one of them having a shock boot.
Who SHOULD go home:
Adam Ezegelian and Daniel Seavey
Who WILL go home:
Adam Ezegelian and Mark Andrew
That's my thoughts for the guys this week. Let me know what your thoughts are!
