Hey guys here are my rankings of the Top 8 girls! Almost all of them did a great job so having to send any of them home is hard. We said goodbye to Lovey James, Shi Scott, Shannon Berthiaume, and Katherine Winston first which I was sad to see them go. Now onto the rankings:
8th - Alexis Gomez - I Can't Help Myself: ......what even was that. I was surprised she made the Top 16 over Lovey who I thought did better. I think her song choice was so off that it was comical. I'm shocked they had her close the show. Oh well. Status: Going Home.
7th - Joey Cook - Shop Around: First let me say I loved Joey's arrangement and I felt she tried to make the song fit her. I liked her a whole lot better than last week but it just wasn't a blow you away kind of performance. I wish all 7 girls could advance but unfortunately for Joey I think not measuring up to the others is what will send her home. Status: Not Safe.
6th - Tyanna Jones - Rockin' Robin - Like Joey Tyanna was great just not as good as the other girls in my opinion. I thought her vocals were great on the song I just was not a fan of the song choice for her. It just didn't give Tyanna that spark her voice has shown so many times. Status: Not Safe.
5th - Adanna Duru - Hello - Adanna did a decent job on her song it just did not have that wow factor until towards the end of the song when I finally got excited by her performance. Status: Not Safe.
4th - Loren Lott - I Wanna Be Where You Are - Loren yet again had another strong performance I'm thrilled America brought her back for another week. What Loren needs to be careful of if she is to move forward is going into her nasal tone. It is then that she could shoot herself in the foot and be eliminated. Status: Not Safe.
3rd - Maddie Walker - I'll Be There - Maddie's tone was gorgeous on this Jackson 5 classic. I was very pleased with how she did on the song. She brought back the Maddie I loved from her audition. If she picks the right songs from week to week she could be a real contendor to win against the front runners (Sarina and Jax). Status: Safe for the week.
2nd - Jax - Ain't No Mountain High Enough - WHAT THE HELL WERE THE JUDGES LISTENING TO? Jax's arrangement made this overdone song fresh and new and just made it interesting and intreging for America to hear. I think her vocals were just perfectly placed in such a way to make the song work for her. Status: Safe for the week.
1st - Sarina Joi Crowe - You've Really Got A Hold On Me: Again what the hell judges? There was nothing off about Sarina's version of this song. I am so pleased with this performance. Sarina did the smart thing when handling a song done on the show before, she made it so different from Haley Reinhart's that I could love BOTH renditions of the song. One was more uptempo, the other more pleading. It was beautiful. If she keeps bringing performances like this Sarina could be the American Idol. Status: Safe, standout performance
Who SHOULD Go Home:
Alexis Gomez and Joey Cook
Who WILL Go Home:
Alexis Gomez and Joey Cook
I think it's obvious which girls are going home due to the lackluster response to both performances.
