Top 24 Ranking After Live Shows:

Hello and welcome to my Top 24 ranking after they have performed for our votes. Some of the contestants have improved on their rankings while others have fallen. Here we go for my rankings:

Shi.jpg24th: Shi Scott (-1): Oh Shi....after tonight's performance this is what did you in. I have never really been a fan of your voice but tonight established one thing for me, you are not the next American Idol.
Adam.jpg 23rd: Adam Ezegelian (-1): Adam is just not my kind of singer. I don't think he's horrible but I just can't get into his performances which is why he ends up here.
Daniel.jpg22nd: Daniel Seavey (-1): Daniel performed to the best of his ability, unfortunately his best is just not good enough to surpass his other competitors.
Savion.jpg21st: Savion Wright (-3): Oh Savion, you fell hard this week based on your performance. I didn't care one but for. It was just so mediocre and did nothing for me.
Qaasim.jpg20th: Qaasim Middleton (+4): Qaasim had his best performance so far this week which made me like him but not love him. He was better than all 4 people above him which is why he has moved up so congratulations on that!
Shannon.jpg19th: Shannon Berthiaume (-4): Oh Shannon, you showed so much promise with your progress throughout Hollywood week. Unfortunately I think you just weren't ready for the idol stage quite yet. In a way I really wish the judges had let you wait another year before advancing you to the Top 24.
Alexis.jpg18th: Alexis Gomez (+1): Congratulations to Alexis for moving up a spot. Alexis did a fairly great job moving the crowd with her performance tonight and I saw a lot of improvement on her side so I felt it should be rewarded. Great job Alexis.
Maddie.jpg17th: Maddie Walker (-3): Much like Shannon, I really wish the judges would have waited on advancing Maddie. They originally had it right on cutting her. Her performance was very bland tonight which is why she ends up here.
Joey.jpg16th: Joey Cook (-4): I really didn't get Joey's performance tonight. I love her but this performance just didn't work for me which worries me if she were to advance to the next round on Idol. I really hope that she improves.
Riley.jpg15th: Riley Bria (-4): Riley was good this week, I'm not saying he wasn't but he just didn't live up to the other contestants. I really hope if he comes back next week he blows us away with his performance.
Trevor.jpg14th: Trevor Douglas (-9): This was two weeks in a row that Trevor has disappointed me with his performance. He was one of the worst this week and I was really rooting for him which makes me sad. I really hope that if he is to advance he really steps it up otherwise I think he will be saying goodbye very shortly.

Michael.jpg13th: Michael Simeon (-5): Michael was just okay this week. His performance did not wow me but on the plus side he did not make me bored. I think his song showed a lot of tone to his voice. I hope that if he comes back next week he picks a better song.
Mark.jpg12th: Mark Andrew (+1): Mark stayed consistent this week on the show which is super important with all the talent that is on this season. I think he did well this week. If he stays on the show I hope that he picks a song he can really have a moment with.
Adanna.jpg11th: Adanna Duru (-2): Adanna was just okay this week. It wasn't her strongest performance but I did see the effort on her end. I hope if she stays next week she can bring another "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" Performance.
Loren.jpg10th: Loren Lott (+10): And with our biggest jump it's Loren Lott. Loren had a really strong performance this week much like her "Skyfall" performance back in Hollywood. If she keeps up this really incredible momentum and stays where her voice is best she could be a real contender.
Quentin.jpg9th: Quentin Alexander (+7): With yet another big jump is Quentin Alexander, he wowed us all with his amazing take on "I Put A Spell On You". This song made me forget Casey Abrams' rendition which was kind of a big deal back in Season 10 (Yes as you all know I'm a Season 10 junkie). Quentin just brought a fresh and new perspective to the song which just made the song his own.
Katherine.jpg8th: Katherine Winston (+2): Katherine's performance was a bit back and forth with how good it was however I felt like she really gave the song a new way about it which I really enjoyed. I feel like she is going to grow if she continues in the competition and could have real moments if given another chance.
Rayvon.jpg7th: Rayvon Owen (+10): Tied with Loren for our biggest jump is Rayvon whose smooth vocals on "Jealous" just made me fall in love with the song since I really hadn't heard it before and I was not a huge Nick Jonas or Jonas Brothers fan. Rayvon just held his own against some of the most talented of the Top 24 and I really can't wait to see what else he has in store for the competition. To me this is the moment he needed.
Lovey.jpg6th: Lovey James (-): Staying consistent in her spot is Lovey James, Lovey gave a strong performance to start off the show with. I really have enjoyed Lovey this season on Idol. I really feel like with the right songs she could be a standout on the show but if she picks the wrong song for her voice, I think she could be out in a bang.
Tyanna.jpg5th: Tyanna Jones (+2): To be honest when I saw Tyanna's song choice I was in fear of her safety especially when the spoilers said that she did not deserve to close the show with the performance she gave. I don't know what that person was listening to because Tyanna KILLED it. I think if she stays on the right track she could do well in the competition.
Nick.jpg4th: Nick Fradiani (-): Ugh this is where it gets insanely hard because all 4 of these guys had such strong performances. Yet again at #4 is Nick Fradiani. I loved Nick's performance this week and he stayed consistent. I hope he brings it again next week.
Jax.jpg3rd: Jax (-): Yet again not moving up is Jax. Jax gave such a strong performance tonight but ultimately Sarina and Clark were just a hair stronger than she was. Like I said it is so hard to rank past 5th. I think Jax just needs to give us another "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" blow you away kind of performance to move up.
Clark.jpg2nd: Clark Beckham (-1): Losing to Sarina by a hair is Clark Beckham. For me the only reason I am ranking Clark below Sarina is the fact that he needs to start thinking outside of his little soul/motown box and start bringing his own flair to more recent songs. I really hope he does that next week.
Sarina.jpg1st: Sarina Joi Crowe (+1): Coming in at my number 1 spot this week is Sarina Joi Crowe. Sarina brought it so solidly tonight with her incredible performance of "Mamma Knows Best" being an Angie Miller fan I am picky about who sings this song but to me this song showed Sarina's incredible range. I was so sad when it ended I just wanted to hear the whole song. Sarina owned the stage tonight which is why I think she is ranked #1.

So there you have it. Week 1 and we already have a new #1 person. What are your thoughts on this season please let me know :)

Top 12 Girls Perform

Hello and welcome back to the girls night on my blog :) Tonight was filled with amazing standout performances....and one horrible performance. It was really hard to determine my rankings of the performances and who I feel will be leaving due to almost all of the girls delivering great performances.

12th - Shi Scott - Umbrella: Oh my gosh. This was probably by far the worst performance of the season. Shi joins the ranks of Haley Johnsen and Marrialle Sellers for worst performance of the Top 24. Honestly if Shi does not go tomorrow I don't know what to think. Status: Eliminated.
11th - Joey Cook - Somebody Like You: The song choice seemed to have different effects on people online. Some loved it while others like myself hated it. I had compared it to Naima Adedapo's arrangement of "I'm Still Standing". To me what she did with the song just did not work for the song. However there were people online calling it a standout. Status: Unknown could go either way, people either loved it, or hated it.
10th - Shannon Berthiaume - Who Knew: Oh Shannon. She was putting me to sleep with the first half of her performance. The second half was a bit screamy and shouty for me but it was better than the first half. She completely bombed tonight. Status: Eliminated.
9th - Alexis Gomez - Gunpowder and Lead: This was not a bad performance by any stretch of the imagination. Alexis actually had probably one of her best performances to date and really tried to compete for a spot in the Top 16. Unfortunately for her, I think this is going to be a case of her not having a strong fanbase which will send her home. Status: Most likely going home.
8th - Maddie Walker - Love Gets Me Everytime: This performance was good but I just feel like it wasn't the WOW performance Maddie needed to prove that she deserved her Top 24 spot over Rachael Hallack who I thought was also fabulous. Unfortunately I think this could be her demise in the competition. Status: Most likely going home.
7th - Adanna Duru - Rather Be: This performance was pretty strong for Adanna, although there were a few bum notes throughout the performance which is what lands her here. I feel like it was strong enough to move her on but I'm not sure. Status: Not Safe.
6th - Katherine Winston - Safe And Sound: I really liked this performance of Katherine's. I feel like she brought out some really beautiful things in her tone which I liked. There were a few shaky parts for her however which makes me question her safety. Status; Not Safe.
5th - Lovey James - Love Runs Out: Lovey had a very strong start to the show. The first few notes of the song were a bit bum but as the song went on my love for this performance grew. I'm glad Lovey started off the show with high energy and a strong performance. Status: Safe for this week.
4th - Loren Lott - Note To God: Okay the beginning of Loren's performance was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off but by the end of the performance she nailed it. She found her right tone and voice to really give the song her all and land her first moment of the season. I am so proud of Loren. Status: Safe for this week.
3rd - Tyanna Jones - Lips Are Moving: Okay to the guy saying Tyanna did not deserve the pimp spot you are so wrong. Tyanna brought such great energy and vocals to her performance which makes me so proud of her. I really am looking forward to seeing what she does next week. Status: Safe for this week.
2nd - Jax - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down): Wow wow wow! Jax really blew me away with her performance. I am so proud of her for coming out on top this week with such a great performance. I have no doubt in my mind what so ever that she will be through to the next week. Status: SAFE, also standout performance.
1st - Sarina Joi Crowe - Mamma Knows Best: This song fit SLAYrina like a glove. She really gave her all in this performance showing America she is a force to be reckoned with. I am so excited to see her next week hopefully SLAYING again. Status: Safe, standout performance of the night.

Who SHOULD go home:
Shi Scott, Joey Cook, Shannon Berthiaume, and Alexis Gomez

Who WILL go home:
Shi Scott, Shannon Berthiaume, Alexis Gomez, and Maddie Walker

I wouldn't could too many of the girls safe because Anything could happen. Only my Top 4 or 5 girls could maybe be considered as safe. Good luck to the girls and goodnight. I will post my Top 24 updated rankings tonight.

Top 12 Guys Perform

It was the first night of the semifinals. Some guys were expected to do what they did. Some were unexpectedly great. Others were unexpectedly bad. Here are my rankings and reasons for the Top 12 guys:

12th - Adam Ezegelian - I Wanna Rock: This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me. Adam wasn't great at all. I just don't care for his style, it's too screamy for my likings which is why I feel he is gone. Status: Eliminated.
11th - Trevor Douglas - Best I Ever Had: I did not expect to put Trevor this low but ultimately he disappointed me. I was really hoping for him to do well with the song instead we got a pretty bad performance. Status: Unknown - could go either way.
10th - Savion Wright - Hey Soul Sister: This song was just the wrong choice for Savion in my opinion. I really don't care for this song to begin with. It's just a mediocre song choice on Savion's part which I feel may put him in danger. Status: Unknown - could go either way.
9th - Daniel Seavey - I'm Yours: Yet another too safe song choice. I was glad Daniel went this route. It was probably the best performance that he could give in the competition. Honestly I really wish he would've waited a few years before auditioning. Status: Eliminated.
8th - Riley Bria - Homeboy: I liked Riley's performance but I didn't love it. It was alright it wasn't a standout but it wasn't awful. Status: Safe most likely
7th - Michael Simeon - How Am I Supposed To Live Without You: Michael doing well on this mediocre song came as a surprise to me. I thought it suited his tone well and actually showed a really solid vocal. Was it the best I've heard ever? No but at least it showed something in his voice. Status: Unknown - could go either way.
6th - Qaasim Middleton - Uptown Funk: This was MILES better than anything else Qaasim has done thus far in the competition. It was just okay. The only reason he tops Michael is because he closed the show. Status: Safe most likely
5th - Mark Andrew - The Weight: This song suited Mark so well. I thought it was the best choice he could've made thus far in the competition. Now I'm not sure it rubbed America the way it rubbed me but hey I think he did great. Status: Unknown - could go either way.
4th - Quentin Alexander - I Put A Spell On You: OH MY GOSH! This was the first performance of the night that really came as a pleasant surprise, Quentin blew me away for the second week in a row. Holy shit. I mean this guy really changed up the song and made it his own. I am so proud of him. Status: Safe.
3rd - Nick Fradiani - Thinking Out Loud: This song fit Nick like a glove. It was the perfect song choice for him and I really enjoyed watching him perform it. I really hope America sees it my way. Status: Safe.
2nd - Rayvon Owen - Jealous: This performance of Rayvon's everything just came perfectly. He had just the right amount of everything in that performance. Vocally he is one of the best guys and I am so glad he had such a great performance tonight. Status: Safe.
1st - Clark Beckham - When A Man Loves A Woman: Holy consistency. Just like every other week Clark just gave another dazzling performance of this song. I am just so blown away by Clark every time he hits the stage. I just hope in the near future he can do a song other than old soul songs....I guess that's what the themes are for right? Status: Safe.

So who should go:
Adam Ezegelian, Trevor Douglas (sadly), Savion Wright, Daniel Seavey

Who WILL go:
Adam Ezegelian, Daniel Seavey, Michael Simeon, Mark Andrew

I think Trevor and Savion's fanbases may be big enough to save them although it is 4 people going home so I wouldn't count them safe just yet. Stay tuned tomorrow when I rank the girls and then all 24 again!

Top 24 Song Choice Reaction

Okay first and foremost *SPOILER ALERT* If you do not wish to know what the contestants of American Idol are singing this week please just ignore this post. If you like me love looking at spoilers this is a post for you. Okay as many of you know the Top 24 performed on Thursday in Detroit for a pre-recorded live show. We now have their songs and here is my reaction to all of their songs. I will put them in performance order.

The GUYS are first:

Savion Wright - Hey Soul Sister (Train): Oh Savion....why of all songs would you pick this one. It does absolutely nothing for a singer. I predict this will be a decent performance but I think it won't win him any votes. Status: Could be in danger of leaving this week.

Mark Andrew - The Weight (The Band): This song is literally perfect for Mark's tone and voice. I am so proud of him for picking a great song. I know most people are kind of indifferent to Mark at this point but I think this performance may change people's minds from "Eh he's okay" to "He needs to make the Top 12". Status: Breakout performance

Adam Ezegelian - I Want To Rock (Twisted Sister): The source going to the show said Adam was a standout. I can't really see this performance being anything other than a shouty mess that Adam has proven himself to give during rock songs ("Born To Be Wild", "Here I Go Again"). The person who went may have liked Adam going into it. If that's the case I'm sure I know his fate. Status: Going Home.

Michael Simeon - How Am I Supposed To Live Without You (Michael Bolton): Michael, Michael, Michael. This song will do nothing for you except maybe get you a plane ticket home. I'm sad that he picked this song because I felt like he was going to do some really great things in this competition. Unfortunately, he shot himself in the foot. Status: Most likely leaving this week.

Trevor Douglas - Best I Ever Had (Gavin DeGraw): Trevor was extremely smart when it came to this song choice. I really can see this being a great performance from him which in my mind he needs after the "Burning Love" performance. Status: Safe for the week.

Clark Beckham - When A Man Loves A Woman (Percy Sledge): The source who attended the taping said Clark got a standing ovation. I can honestly see him doing well with this performance. I don't see it being as epic as Joshua Ledet's version but I can see it being a great performance for him. Status: Stand Out Moment.

Rayvon Owen - Jealous (Nick Jonas): This is such a perfect song for Rayvon's voice. I really am thrilled to see how well he does with this performance. Status: Safe for the week.

Daniel Seavey - I'm Yours (Jason Mraz): This song is about all Daniel could really handle honestly. It won't make me dislike him but it won't bring me on board either. Status: Most likely leaving this week.

Riley Bria - Homeboy (Eric Church): This song really suits Riley's voice. I think it will keep him around this week. Status: Safe for the week.

Quentin Alexander - I Put A Spell On You (Screamin' Jay Hawkins): This performance could either be a standout or disastrous. According to the source it was a standout performance. I'm not sure if I should listen to the source or not. Status: Could go either way depending on the performance.

Nick Fradiani - Thinking Out Loud (Ed Sheeran): Nick knows exactly how to pick a song that could get him through and stay consistent with how well he has done thus far in the competition. I'm actually really excited to see this performance. Status: Best performance of the night.

Qaasim Middleton - Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars): I did not expect to see Qaasim closing the show but he is. I actually think this song is a very smart choice for Qaasim. It was the right song and with him closing the show I have no doubt in my mind he's going through. Status: Safe for the week.

My predictions for who will leave BEFORE I hear the performances are: Savion Wright, Adam Ezegelian, Michael Simeon, and Daniel Seavey

Now for the GIRLS:

Lovey James - Love Runs Out (OneRepublic): Okay I've actually heard Lovey's cover of this song and it is sensational. I think she will have no trouble getting through to the next round.  I think she could really get the crowd going with this performance. Status: Safe for the week.

Adanna Duru - Rather Be (Clean Bandit and Jesse Glynne): This song doesn't really have the WOW factor that is needed to make it through this 4 girl cut. It's a decent song choice but I just can't see it being a standout. Status: In danger of going home.

Alexis Gomez - Gunpowder and Lead (Miranda Lambert): It's a good song choice for Alexis and I think she will do well on it, however I just think the other girls in the competition are just simply better than Alexis. Status: Going Home.

Joey Cook - Somebody Like You (Keith Urban): My initial reaction to the song choice was Joey just shot herself in the foot and is going home but then I heard she got a standing ovation. I think she may have changed up this song to work for her, although the judges gave out standing ovations lightly last season. Status: Safe for the week.

Katherine Winston - Safe and Sound (Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars): OH MY GOSH! Katherine picked the perfect song for her voice. I can just hear her tone on this song and just slaying this song. Unfortunately  the source said the judges called her boring. I think it might enrage America to vote for her. On a side note I really wanted Majesty Rose from last season to sing this during movie week and instead we got "Let It Go". Status: Standout Performance.

Shannon Berthiaume - Who Knew (Pink): I think this song could work for Shannon although it wouldn't be my first choice for her. The source said that the crowd did not like Shannon's performance so there's a good chance she could leave. Status: In danger of going home.

Loren Lott - Note To God (JoJo): I found a video of her covering this song and it actually is one of the best things I've heard from her. It's not as good as "Skyfall" but this performance is definitely miles ahead of everything else she did. Status: Safe for the week.

Shi Scott - Umbrella (Rihanna): Oh Shi...she hasn't been great the rest of the time and I just have a feeling this song choice is a disaster waiting to happen. The source also said the crowd did not like Shi. Status: Going Home.

Maddie Walker - Love Gets Me Everytime (Shania Twain): Listening to the song it sounds like it would be a good choice for Maddie but it just doesn't seem like a standout performance that she needs to move on. Status: In danger of going home.

Sarina Joi Crowe - Mamma Knows Best (Jessie J): OH MY GOSH! Sarina has a huge voice and I could really see this begin a moment from her. The source who went to the show said that she was a standout. Status: Standout performance quite possibly of the night.

Jax - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) [Cher]: I really hope Jax did the Lady Gaga version on the piano because it sounds like it would suit her more. I could see this being a standout moment for her if she did that version. According to the source she was a standout so I have a feeling she went with the Gaga version. Status: Standout performance quite possibly of the night.

Tyanna Jones - Lips Are Moving (Meghan Trainor): ....This gets the pimp spot? I was really hoping Tyanna closing the show would have a really epic song choice but she chooses "Lips Are Moving". From what the source said this performance was very underwhelming and did not deserve to close the night. Status: Safe, but at the bottom of the pack.

My prediction for who will leave from the girls is....: Shi Scott, Alexis Gomez, Adanna Duru, and Shannon Berthiaume (just for the fact the crowd didn't love her). Maddie is also in danger of leaving so I wouldn't count her safe just yet. Tyanna is aiming herself to be eliminated next week if she doesn't step it up.

That's it for my comments on the Top 24's song choices. Let me know what you think of their choices and who you think will be leaving the competition.

American Idol Top 24 Pre-Live Show Rankings

Hello and welcome to my American Idol Season 14 Blog. I will be breaking down my feelings towards the contestants this season in the Top 24. I'm thrilled to be writing about something that I have been a fan of since Season 4. I have tried this once before in Season 11 but I stopped writing it due to me hating that season. I deleted all my posts from then just because I didn't want to have to keep it up. This season however will be different. I love almost everyone in the Top 24 so here we go!

Qaasim.jpg24th: Qaasim Middleton - Oh Qaasim watching your covers had me thinking you had so much promise. So far in the competition I have not like one thing you have done which is why you are ranked here at 24th.
Shi.jpg23rd: Shi Scott - Shi has yet to find her own identity. She keeps trying to emulate singers which is why I feel she is 23rd. Her voice is not in and of itself special she is just trying to force it to sound a certain way.
Adam.jpg22nd: Adam Ezegelian - Adam’s voice is just awful. There is no way I can describe how angry I am that he has made it to the Top 24. I am so hoping he is a fodder cut and I won’t have to have him shouting at me any longer.
Daniel.jpg21st: Daniel Seavey - Daniel has only moved up because his voice has not cracked once since his audition. His voice is just underdeveloped and I really wish the judges had cut him this season and told him to come back. Unfortunately I believe we have another Eben Franckewitz on our hands and we all know how that ended up.
Loren.jpg20th: Loren Lott - Loren has had 3 awful rounds, 1 okay round, and 1 round where she blew us all away which is why she ends up in the 20th slot. If Loren has moments like her ‘Skyfall’ performance I think she could really be a force to be reckoned with. If she keeps up awful performances she will be gone in a flash.
Alexis.jpg19th: Alexis Gomez - This is where it gets hard because I genuinely love all of the contestants from this point forward. Alexis has just been ordinary in the competition. She just hasn't brung anything special to the table which is why she is here.
Savion.jpg18th: Savion Wright - Savion has a great voice. This isn't why he is 18th. It is because of his personality. He just seems to beg for attention on twitter and I like many of the other's personalities and voices just better.
Rayvon.jpg17th: Rayvon Owen - This may seem like my controversial choice but let me back this up. Rayvon has had highs that were amazing and lows that I just don’t exactly enjoy hearing. I think that he has potential to do great things (as do almost all of the Top 24) but I just haven’t gotten excited by his performance since his audition.
Quentin.jpg16th: Quentin Alexander - Quentin’s audition was good, not great. His Hollywood Round 3 which just okay but I loved how adorable he was at the end of the performance. His final performance blew me away. If he comes into live shows like he did that final performance day I think he could easily take the R&B male slot in the Top 12.
Shannon.jpg15th: Shannon Berthiaume - Shannon had a very rocky start to the Idol competition with a way too shouty audition. Her first round of Hollywood she forgot the words but showed she had a beautiful tone. Her vocal control has been growing more and more each time she hits the stage and I have become more and more of a fan as time goes on. I think if she continues her growth she could be the Haley Reinhart of Season 14 and that’s something I don’t say lightly.
Maddie.jpg14th: Maddie Walker - Watching the season go on I was shocked when the judges originally were going to send Maddie home due to her incredible pitch and her tone being so gorgeous. She was so consistent in the competition. That is until her last two performances. ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ was just okay and singing ‘Red High Heels’ for survival had a lot of pitch issues which I was not used to hearing from Maddie. I really hope she can keep up the momentum she set up for herself prior otherwise she may leave the competition quickly.
Mark.jpg13th: Mark Andrew - Mark’s tone is great. He has been super consistent throughout his Idol journey. I think if he keeps it up he could be one of the strongest guys in the competition.
Joey.jpg12th: Joey Cook - I love Joey’s tone and really have loved everything she did so far but she has forgotten her words twice which could be a huge problem in live shows. Remember Lazaro Arbos? I mean she is adorable and has a voice like no one else but I think if she picks the wrong song or forgets her words she is so done.
Riley.jpg11th: Riley Bria - Riley has been slowly but surely growing on me throughout the competition. I've really enjoyed all of his performances. I think he has the country vote locked and we all know how powerful that can be....ask Scotty McCreery.
Katherine.jpg10th: Katherine Winston - I was blown away by her voice and her tone at her first audition. Katherine has come a long way since then and has delivered beautiful performances. I think Michael Slezak said it best she reminds me of Kree Harrison from Season 12 how understated she is vocally yet how powerful she can be. I think if she picks the right songs and connects she could be a real contender.
Adanna.jpg9th: Adanna Duru - Adanna had a great audition. She stumbled a bit in group round and on her final solo absolutely slayed it when it mattered. She is one of the weakest of her category but if she picks the better songs she could make her way to the top.
Michael.jpg8th: Michael Simeon - Michael’s audition had me at eh until he slow danced and sang to JLO then his voice came shining through. His cover of Demi Lovato’s ‘Warrior’ was good but not great. His real time to shine was in his group round singing ‘Rude’ it just all came together. I think he and Nick are vying for the same audience and right now Nick is a million miles ahead but if Michael picks the right songs he can catch up to Nick.
Tyanna.jpg7th: Tyanna Jones - Tyanna has had a great Idol journey. Her audition was amazing, her first solo was great. Then group round happened. It wasn't her strongest performance but it was good. The third round of Hollywood the same thing happened. Her final performance, she brought back the Tyanna I have loved since her first audition. I think the key to Tyanna going far in this season is going to be song choice and consistency. Her biggest competition, Sarina, is miles ahead of her in that department.
Lovey.jpg6th: Lovey James - Lovey had an okay audition. I liked it but it didn't blow me away. Then her group round occurred where her group reinvented the way I heard ‘All About That Bass’. She slayed in her last Hollywood solo and also her final solo which is why I feel like with the right songs Lovey could really be a contender. It’s just so hard to rank everyone at this point because they are all standouts.
Trevor.jpg5th: Trevor Douglas - From his audition it was evident that Trevor was going to be a great contestant this season. His first Hollywood solo blew me away as well as his solos in his group (mind you the group itself was awful). His final solo was also great in Hollywood. His house of blues solo unfortunately left a lot to be desired for. His voice was so off it was awful. I really hope Trevor can redeem himself from that because I really have loved him besides that hiccup.
Nick.jpg4th: Nick Fradiani - Nick has been so consistently good that I just am blown away every time he hits the screen. From his audition to his final solo he has shown that he deserves to be here. I think he could possibly win this entire show with the right song choices.
Jax.jpg3rd: Jax - Jax’s audition to me is one of my favorite Idol auditions of all time. She blew me out of the water from Day 1. Her performance of ‘Toxic’ that followed was incredible as well. Group round was probably her shakiest performance yet but I will blame that on the song since it was not geared towards Jax’s indie singer style. Her final solo of ‘Let It Be’ was so beautiful that she blew me away yet again. Unfortunately for Jax her final solo of ‘You and I’ left a lot to be desired for. She did a great job in making it her own but it wasn't the best song choice she could have made. I enjoyed it but it just didn't have the sparkle I had seen so often from Jax. These 3 are the hardest to rank because they are all amazing.
Sarina.jpg2nd: Sarina Joi Crowe - Sarina’s journey started off incredible with her cover of ‘Love Runs Out’. Her and Jax were my top 2 standouts (with Clark in 3rd). Her group round Sarina SLAYED everyone in her group and showed them who was the boss. I mean literally the girl kills it every time she is on the stage. The only thing that worries me about Sarina is she didn't get as much airtime as the other contestants. I really hope it doesn't play against her because she is phenomenal. I see a lot of Candice Glover in her.
Clark.jpg1st: Clark Beckham - Like I said these three were the hardest to rank because all 3 of them have topped my rankings at one point or another. At my number 1 I have Clark who has killed every performance he has been in. The only reason he is number 1 over Sarina is because I have seen every round of his and have seen him slay them all whereas Sarina I have only seen her audition, group round, and her final performance. This right now is Clark’s competition to lose. He reminds me so much of Phillip Phillips. I really feel like he could win the entire thing.

Honestly I think this season is anyone’s game. Consistency is key this yet because the contestants all have it in them to be the next Idol. That’s what I love about this season so far is that almost anyone of the Top 24 can really go far in the competition and end up winning the show. That’s what will make this season interesting to watch.
